[edit] Government
The Statue of Liberty is described in Wonders. If you feel like writing a reference to it in the Government page (it does make sense), feel free to do so. After all, this is a wiki. (The previous unsigned comment was left by Jcreus.)

[edit] Wonders (responses)
I've seen your contribution to the Government page, and I think you stress the wrong property of the Statue of Liberty: the best thing about it is that it avoids the potentially long period of anarchy while you change governments. If you do want Communism right away, it probably makes more sense to research it and be done with it. But, if you are unlucky and you get 5 years of anarchy between governments, it's quite a nuisance.
About Pyramids: they used to be like having a Granary in every city. After building Pyramids, you couldn't even build a Granary, because it didn't make sense. Remember that the usual way for a city to grow is to fill the (standard) granary in the city: at that moment, this granary is depleted and you begin to fill it again (although, for each new citizen, the standard granary is larger and larger, so it takes longer to fill up). With a Granary improvement, when the city grows, the granary starts at 50%, so growth can be twice as fast.
Now, Pyramids was considered too powerful, and now, it's like having "half a Granary improvement" in every city, i.e., when a city grows or shrinks, the standard granary starts at 25%. On the other hand, you may have both Pyramids and a Granary in selected cities, and their effects add up.
About the Eiffel Tower, I never built it when it had some effect, let alone now that reputation has been removed. I guess it's kept right now for historical reasons, but it will be eventually removed. I suggest you post a question in the forum. Some developers hang out around there and may have plans that I don't know about (I'm not a developer, just a translator). --Jcreus 13:39, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] About wonders
I like a lot your new contribution to the Government page. Thank you. Also, bear in mind that, for people who like to play with rulesets, the Democracy prerequisite for SoL is just an anecdote. But I like the current wording. There is no need to confuse people with ruleset technicalities.
I hadn't noticed about the cumulative effect had been taken out. I don't really get it: in 2.0, Pyramids used to be just like Granaries, and you couldn't have both. I have a game in progress where I have built Pyramids and just a few Granaries, and I'll experiment with it.
- Definitely Pyramids and Granaries now add up. So, if you have Pyramids and a certain city has a Granary, when it grows, the food level will be at 75%.
