[edit] All largepoxers gone?

Hello, I'm just discovering FreeCiv after an Civ-absence of years and would call myself a civ builder. This article seems to be a kind of old and maybe outdated. Is the reception of Mike Jing (still) correct, that FreeCiv is (too) smallpox-biased and there's almost no fun for largepoxers in the game and there are no more affords to change this?

I installed the 2.1.1 right this weekend and will try my strategy of as many as possible and as large as possible cities (of course with every possible improvement). So I'm not generally a friend of penalizing a large number of cities. Maybe this could be set off against the city size (e.g. penalize all cities of size lower than a the value of a monotonic function of your number of cities). Or, coming from reality and taking the observed power law distribution of real city sizes, the difference to the best fitting power law could give a penalty measure for too much too little cities.

Is there any discussion going on (elsewhere) or are all these questions already answered (or am I the last largepoxer)?

Actually good smallpoxers still play 1.14 and good largepoxers still play 2.0. And I really dunno who play 2.1 -- Pepeto 19:04, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Bert, you're right, the article is about 1.x and I do believe largepox is better in 2.x (judging from what I saw on pubserver when it was still alive). I added an introductory comment to the article stating that it is about 1.x. Rp 00:21, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
