Talk:Alternating Moves

From Freeciv

What about 'planned' moves? Ie: everyone plans their movement, but it's only executed at the end of the turn. This means that units can 'miss' each other, or 'intercept' each other, as well as normal combat. You could then have a combat summary screen, with all the summary for combat in a list, with the option to zoom in to a combat location from there, and with the buttons 'go to next combat location' on the main screen. Players would have to anticipate where units are likely to move to (or move them in blind 'waves') see Planned Movement & 2 other ideas (not 'that' long) for a full workout of that idea.

The current suggestion is really just 'turn-based' combat. And would the turns be random? or fixed? (if random you could still have 2 go's one after the other). I think 'planned' would be fairest, but hard to make the ai intelligent (simple behaviour is to make waves of troops).--Albatrossix 17:47, 23 May 2005 (PDT)
