I have created one extra nation "test (i'm just messing around; after this I was planning to delete it) under the directory "custom", but when I say "/rulesetdir custom" it says that it lost the connection to the server. If I put it into the default dir, when I launch civserver it opens then immediately closes. I am using 2.1.8 on a windows 2000
- You need all the main rulesets in the rulesetdir. Of course, those can include parts from other directories, as nations.ruleset usually does. Also, you should start civserver separately from dos-prompt (and then in client side, "Connect to network game" -> localhost:5556) to see what error message it gives when it exits. --Cazfi 11:23, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
- I do. I copied and pasted the default directory and changed that one file. The thing with it is that the moment that I say "rulesetdir custom" in the server, the window closes.
- First start DOS-prompt. Then start Freeciv server in it by typing "civserver". When civserver then exits, DOS-prompt remains. --Cazfi 20:05, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
