Forums: Index > Watercooler > Lost pages in localized wikis

It seems that during the copy process, where localized pages have been moved into their own subdomain, some pages with special names got lost (at least for now). See discussion at User_talk:Hima. --Chrisk 09:44, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

I think I found the missing pages: they are stuck in namespace limbo. When importing the database, pages were moved from de:foo to foo in localized wikis. However, these 'missing' pages didn't get moved for some reason and still have their prefix intact, which is 'illegal' in mediawiki. Hence, they are not accessible but not lost from the database. Download and browse a database snapshot from Wikia and you'll probably find the missing material. --Hima 02:06, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
Yes, I was able to restore the pages this way. --Chrisk 09:50, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
I have done the same over at fr.freeciv. Now when all data has been salvaged, I suggest we let a server admin remove all prefixed pages. They are cluttering de.freeciv and fr.freeciv. --Hima 11:50, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
