Forum:How do i use a MOD pack?

Hi i've downloaded some MOD packs and i've followed the instructions in the read-me files but it doesn't seem to be working. So i was wondering if any one could help me with this.

Yeah, I have the same problem, the readme's are all very unspecific on how/where to extract the .bz2 file, and exactly what to enter in the server for the rulesetdir command. Does the fact that I'm using the Windows 95+ package make a difference?

Aaaaaah!!! New problems!!! Whenever I enter /rulesetdir fantasy it gives me an illegal error message and Freeciv shuts down! Does it have to do with firewalls and stuff on my computer? Also, the fantasy readme says that i need to change the tileset... how am I supposed to do that? I dont even have a "tiles" command or option. Thanks!

Freeciv probably shuts down just because you are not using compatible tileset with fantasy modpack. To set tileset in use, start Freeciv client from dos-prompt and give "-t fantasy" option at command line. "civclient -t fantasy" --Cazfi 15:59, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
