I know that Wikia has a list of the only sorts of files you can upload. Is there a way to rename a "save" file so that it can be uploaded to a Wikia site? Then it could be copied by anyone interested and have its original name restored for play. I've tried renaming the extension to "gif" and "png" without success - got a message about something being incompatible with the MIME.
A forum on another site that I noticed a while ago (Apolyton, probably) said that that sort of thing was possible on some sites where you couldn't upload the file with its original extension.

Hello Robin, I don't know whether this possible on Wikia, but for sure you can upload any format of file, up to 30 MB per post, on the Freeciv forum that is currently being discussed and refinished, at the provisional definitive web address http://freeciv-mundi.org/forum
