Alpha Centauri

In Sid Meier's Civilization series, the winning player is the first to successfully send a starship to Alpha Centauri (presumably, the Proxima Centauri system 4.26 light-years from Sol).

The successor game Alpha Centauri (and expansion pack Alien Crossfire, both by Firaxis) were principally designed by Brian Reynolds although also branded with Sid Meier's name.

Many players feel that Alien Crossfire was the most advanced and enjoyable game in the Civ series.
